WINTER
May 19th - June 9th Year Five
Fall has transitioned slowly into Winter at last. However instead of the snows that usually begin falling at this time, the temperature just seems to be dropping and the winds are unusually strong. The winds quickly tear the dying leaves from trees and even reach into the areas that are normally sheltered from the wind. Frost, freezing fog and pogonip will be almost a daily occurrence as well as high winds and frigid, below average temperatures. Even though there will be little snow, this Winter will be a hard one so make sure you keep those you care about close and mares take extra care of those foals. This risk of frostbite, especially on the ears, muzzle and around the eyes, is very high and even higher for foals.
